Do you remember learning the Bible stories for the first time? For many of us, we learned from our elders, people who made time for what matters: family and faith. Amidst the busyness of life, growing in our faith can bring families closer together, and gives individuals the faithful foundation to weather the storms of life. Make time now for what matters! Bringing our faith into everyday moments, we can nurture and deepen both our own and our children's love and knowledge of God.
Our parish family gathers once a month, September through April. Participants have the option of attending one of the sessions offered each month: Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Prior to each program, an optional community meal is served. These times of fellowship are wonderful opportunities to bring our parish family closer together.
These events are for parishioners of all ages! Children attending must be accompanied by an adult. Students in grades PK-8 meet in classes, divided by grade level.
Adults gather separately, for a lecture and discussion-based program, where they are encouraged and equipped. This adult, continuing education component is key to the transmission of the Catholic faith in the home and in our world.
Adults, young adults and children learn about the same topic of faith. For families, couples, and single people, these topics are perfect fuel for discussion at home and work, or for personal meditation.
Children have been the primary focus of most religious education programs. But we know that parents and adults need support, encouragement and knowledge, too. That is exactly what Family Faith Formation provides: full family and community growth.
Participants are given easy-to-use resources for reading at home with the family and individually.
From birth, parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. The resources enable parents to be the primary educators of their children and bring the whole family together as they study each lesson and then apply it to everyday family life.
Resources reinforce the Mass and immerse families into the life and seasons of the Church.
