Emmaus: Catechists and Facilitators
A Catechist responds to the call to share the Catholic faith with the youth in the parish community. With the assistance of a partner or aide, every Catechist will plan and teach their class’ session (70 minutes) based on a lesson provided by the Faith Formation team, as well as record attendance and keep their classroom tidy. Each lesson covers the topic of the weekend in this year’s series “I Am: The Jesus We Follow.”
As a Catechist shares their faith with the youth, a Facilitator donates their time and skills to share their faith with adults. They facilitate adult discussion at tables (6-10 ppl) after listening to teaching by presenter. Questions are provided. Main tasks are to move discussion around the table, making sure all have a chance to share in the discussion, and keep topic on track.
