Outreach Ministries

The Outreach Ministries at Christ the King Parish offer parishioners ways to deliver the hope of Jesus Christ to those who are struggling in the local community. We promote the dignity of life, quality of life, and empowerment for life through the Holy Spirit.

Bereavement Meals

Bereavement meal volunteers provide and serve meals for parish families who have lost a family member. The post-funeral meal provides families an opportunity to mourn and celebrate the life of the deceased. These luncheons are needed at various times on relatively short notice. To get involved, email parish@christthekingnh.org.

Christmas Tree Giving

The Giving Tree ministry provides gifts to families who need some assistance to bring the spirit of Christmas and celebration of Christ’s birth into their homes on Christmas Day. Volunteers organize names and collections for those in our community in need. To get involved, email Melissa Detwiller at parish@christthekingnh.org.

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry provides food, personal items, and fellowship to low-income families throughout the greater Concord community. Volunteers strive to be caring examples of God’s presence in our community. To volunteer at the Food Pantry, email parish@christthekingnh.org.

Homebound Visitation

Bringing communion and visiting those in the hospital and nursing homes, those involved in the homebound visitation ministry bring the comfort of Christ in the form of the Eucharist to those who cannot come to church. To get involved, email Deacon Winton DeRosia at deaconwinton@christthekingnh.org.

Homeless Outreach

Volunteers working with the various Homeless Community endeavors including the Cold Weather Shelter, the Resource Center, the Friendly Kitchen, Souperfest, the annual talent show, and other events. Volunteers help provide dignity and respect for the less fortunate in our community who may be currently homeless. To volunteer, email Jack Eberth at Jack.Eberth1@marist.edu.

Phone Outreach

This ministry is for parishioners, friends, family, and neighbors who are homebound due to illness, injury, new baby, age, Covid, etc. Calls are made to check on their welfare, provide connection and ongoing communication when requested, and connect the homebound with other ministries as appropriate. If you would like to participate as a caller, contact Kathy Planchet at kathy@christthekingnh.org. For more information, click here.

Prayer Shawl

Crafters pray while fashioning the shawl or blanket and Father Rich blesses each one before it is presented. Think of them as God's warm embrace in a time of need and a "hug" from our parish community. To get involved, email parish@christthekingnh.org.

Respect Life

Respect life volunteers uphold that each individual has intrinsic wholeness and dignity from conception to natural death. Using prayer as a foundation, volunteers affirm this value in the community emphasizing peace, compassion, and nonpolitical activism, which includes participation in 40 Days for Life. For more information, email Beth Gaby at concord40dfl@gmail.com.

Stephen Ministry

Every day you see people who are hurting from life’s difficulties. Stephen Ministers are God’s representatives who bring them Jesus’ love when they need it most. God is waiting to make a difference in their lives through you! To become a Stephen Minister, email Susan Rock at SRock@bluedoorartists.org.

Ste. Thérèse Prayer Ministry

Ste. Thérèse Intercessory Prayer Ministry brings together those needing prayer and parishioners who offer prayers through our ministry. Volunteers pray and intercede to God in a specific or general way on behalf of anyone who requests prayer, including those suffering or feeling unloved in this world, those wanting prayers of support, and those wanting to share prayers of joy and thanksgiving. All information is kept confidential. If you would like to become involved, email Angelique Mosher at Prayer@Christthekingnh.org. For more information, click here.

Those interested in volunteering with minors will need to apply, complete Safe Environment training, and undergo a background check. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our children safe!
